eSeries devices are shipped with default settings that make them functional out-of-the-box upon being plugged into the LAN. However, the ePort is a device that plugs into a computer via USB and into the LAN permitting access to the devices that are connected to the network allowing simple setting changes to be made to these devices by using the ePort and any terminal program to access individual devices. Device names, dial numbers, and page zones can be changed, as well as programming call-ins, pages, and page zone destinations.
